plain answers
frequently asked questions
does Plainly rewrite my CV with AI?+
No. Plainly parses, reorders, and rephrases only content you have already written. It never invents companies, job titles, dates, technologies, or outcomes. If tailoring would require information you have not provided, Plainly flags it and leaves the original unchanged.
is Plainly free?+
Yes, the core features are free. Parsing, editing, exporting, and match analysis are included in the free tier. Pro adds higher daily limits and a more capable model for match analysis and tailoring — useful if you are applying for many roles at once.
does my CV go through ChatGPT?+
No. Plainly does not use ChatGPT. Your content is sent to Plainly's configured AI provider for parsing and tailoring. Your uploaded file is discarded within 30 minutes. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties.
what's an ATS-friendly CV?+
ATS stands for Applicant Tracking System — the software most employers use to filter CVs before a human reads them. An ATS-friendly CV uses a single-column layout, standard fonts, no tables or images, and clear section headings. Plainly exports DOCX files designed to pass through ATS parsers cleanly.
can Plainly invent experience I don't have?+
No, and by design. Every word in the output must come from your original CV or your Master Brief. This is not a limitation — it is the product. A CV that accurately reflects your experience will always outperform a fabricated one in interviews.
which languages does Plainly support?+
The interface is available in English and Ukrainian. Plainly can parse and export CVs in both languages, and it can tailor a CV in one language using a job description written in another.
